Overcome The Challenges Of Living With A Chronic Ailment

Improving lives through Weekly Skills Development Programs

  • Do you have a chronic illness, that is getting you down?

  • Are you left wondering where you will be 6 months from now?

  • Have you noticed that someone you know is struggling with their quality of life?

We understand how difficult and frustrating it can be to cope with an illness.

How difficult it can be to have or keep friends, to have others to relate to, to have social contact with others.

How incredibly frustrating it can be to constantly communicate your needs to other people.

How heartbreaking it can feel to lack a healthy mental and physical well-being.

Here at Equineimity Empowerment, we are all about life skills and good health. That is why we have set up special programs for those that face chronic challenges in life. And if you're looking for a program that can help you to cope better with your illness, feel stronger and happier...

Then let us take you on a holistic journey to get you on the path to where you want to go.

"I attend people with neurological ailments. My young client here has young onset Parkinson's. He struggles with depression and frustration which exacerbates his illness. I brought him out to meet my Equine Assisted Learning horses. It was a wonderful day.

What a difference for him, no tremors and his speech was much improved. All because the horses gently dropped their heads into his lap and stood quietly for as long as he wanted to stroke and hug them. Usually at this hour when he's due to take his medication his speech and brain activity would be slow and confused, not on this day. This is what he said about his experience.

It definitely let me know I was on the right path. This job is the best I could possibly have. With the clients, I love sharing in the joy of my beloved horses."

What Our Clients Say

Neurological Ailments Program

LAUREN

My brother and I had the pleasure of working with a sweet pony by the name of “cracker,” she was so patient and gentle as we worked through the challenges together. Krystyna and her son were so warm and welcoming, it was an incredible experience.

Thank you, Harmony Farms.

BRENNAN

I learned better communication and gained confidence through the Equineimity Empowerment Program. By using a name before talking, I was able to get a person/horse's attention better. This worked well for making things easier. The challenges were very enjoyable.

MARNIE

I am very hard on myself but I did not realize how pervasive and disabling that character trait was until I had those clothespins on and immediately started mentally beating myself up to a point where I could not concentrate on anything else for a few moments. It made me aware of how often I do that and how completely self-defeating and pointless it is. In doing the activity, I realized that this is not always the case and I need to work at stepping up and valuing my own ideas and contributions.

Life Skills For People With Neurological Conditions
Krystyna Nelson: Harmony Farms & Equineimity Empowerment

Hi, I'm Krystyna Nelson.

The Founder & Facilitator Of Equineimity Empowerment

Krystyna Nelson Life Skills Facilitator For Neurological Conditions

As someone who’s worked as a Personal Support Worker in the health field for years, I have personally helped numerous people chronic ailments to be able to find relief in their daily lives.

At the time, I was trying to work with my horses in a more beneficial way than just for horseback riding and I wanted to be able to help people suffering from chronic ailments. I wanted to help my clients:

  • Find fulfillment in their lives and their situations,

  • Make their quality of life better by having fun,

  • Learn how to make the best of their situation and leave empowered and happy!

I REALLY want to be able to bring the joy that horses give to me, to others, so that they can leave feeling great too.

I want to be able to offer more to my clients.

I feel terrible because I visit my clients for their scheduled time and help them with everyday living.

They laugh and feel loved, but I want to take them away from the same old things and bring joy and adventure into their world!

I feel even worse because chronic illness is debilitating physically and mentally. It is easy for a client to feel like, "What’s the use in trying something new? I just need to get through today without feeling too disheartened."

I feel like I was so much luckier but I can empathize.

I’d lived with pain. When I took my certification as an Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator I was unable to drive because of the pain drugs I was on. After qualifying and receiving my certificate I noticed I had a new energy. Going through the programs had helped ME!

Now I get to enjoy the programs repeatedly through others and I’ve learned to manage my medication and pain just through the presence of my lovely horses. They help me to get out of bed in the morning... Even though I hurt.

Programs For People With Neurological Conditions

Now... I get out of bed every morning to help other people manage their pain, their lives, to keep safe AND enjoy a quality of life that is more than just getting up and dressed, eating, watching television and going back to bed again! (All through the power of our programs working with horses!)

Hello & Nice To Meet You,

Our programs were designed for you to empower you to be more productive, happier in your life and confident!

From these programs, I personally discovered all about how much the brain helps the body. Working alongside horses releases endorphins, meaning that it brings joy, laughter and happiness by just being around these beautiful animals. Not only do these incredibly life-changing programs help you to cope with the turmoil and upheaval of illness in your life, but it also shows significant improvement in your body, mind and spirit.

Spend each week building skills and working with horses all while helping you to:

  • take away your anxiety...

  • become present and find happiness in your situation...

  • cope better with your illness...

  • balance your mental and physical well-being...

  • improve your quality of life...

So again, if you're a chronic ailment sufferer who wants to let go of what you cannot change, understand this:

  • YOU can start living your best life now...

  • YOU can relieve yourself of stress, and anxiety and internal pains and just be present without any stresses...

  • YOU will be surrounded in a safe, non-judgmental environment...

And these weekly life skills programs at "Equineimity Empowerment" holds the key to your success!

It's time to bring fun, joy and experiential learning into your life!

Thanks for taking the time to read this letter and I look forward to hearing your success story at the end of these life-changing programs,

Krystyna Nelson
